Cold Calling
It’s something that it seems we love …to hate!
Cold calling is one business activity that can strike fear into the most seasoned and successful business people.
But what IS cold calling?
What is its purpose? What should you be looking to achieve with it?
Simply put, if you and the person you reach on the other end of the phone have no previous history with one another, have never held a conversation, never been referred to one another, and the other person has no knowledge of your intention to call them, then there’s a very good chance that it will be a cold call.
The good news is that the vast majority of the results we generate for our clients, come as a result of cold calls that we make for them.
Typically, the purpose of a cold call could be:
1. To reach a decision maker regarding whether you should be in contact about business issues they may have which your product or service can address or resolve.
2. Establish factual information (e.g. about a company, its people, hierarchies, relationships, ways of doing business, products, services etc.)
3. Inform someone concerning an event that could affect them or their business
4. Perform market research.
If any of these leave you feeling less than comfortable, then it may be a good idea to leave your cold calls to usĀ at phoneforbusiness. Email shaun@phoneforbusiness.com or, if you’re feeling brave, call +44 (0) 208 133 0702 / (0)203 348 8702
